StarReply vs Birdeye

Both products answer the same complaint: reviews land at more addresses than one person can keep up with. They answer it at completely different sizes.

// 001

What Birdeye is

Birdeye is a full reputation and customer-experience platform — review generation and monitoring, two-way messaging, surveys, listings management, payments, referrals and appointment reminders, sold as one contract across a location estate. It is the incumbent in this category and it is genuinely broad.

It does not publish a price. No pricing page. Its pricing page is a quote form: you pick a location band (1-3, 4-9, 10-39, 40-249, 250-999, 1000+) and press "GET PRICING". Read from birdeye.com/pricing on 2026-08-14.

What StarReply is

StarReply is one agent that does one job: it watches the public reviews on every location you own, drafts the reply in your voice, and hands you a queue.

  • A 2★ or lower review is never answered automatically. Not in copilot, not on autopilot, not with any setting changed. That check runs before the autonomy mode is read, and the database refuses to clear the flag on the row.
  • Every approved reply is staged for 30 seconds before it appears on the listing, and killing it inside that window means it was never published — not published and then deleted.
  • Google Business Profile and Trustpilot, in one morning queue, with the rating and the classification on every card.
  • $39/month for up to three locations, published on the page you are reading.

Choose Birdeye if…

  • You want review generation, messaging, surveys, listings and payments in one contract.
  • You have forty or four hundred locations and a team to run the platform.
  • You are comfortable getting the price from a sales conversation.

// 004

Choose StarReply if…

  • The actual problem is the reply, not the platform — and the reply to the bad one is the part that keeps not getting written.
  • You want the hard replies drafted for you and then to decide yourself, with the tool structurally unable to decide for you.
  • You want to know what it costs before you talk to anyone.

Podium is the other suite most multi-location owners shortlist — StarReply vs Podium. GatherUp is the one that does publish a price, per location — StarReply vs GatherUp. Or read how the agent actually works.

Common questions

How much does Birdeye cost? Birdeye does not publish a price. Its pricing page is a quote form: you pick a location band — 1-3, 4-9, 10-39, 40-249, 250-999 or 1000+ — and press GET PRICING. StarReply publishes $39/month for up to three locations and $99/month for up to twenty-five.

Does Birdeye reply to reviews automatically? Birdeye sells AI review response among a much wider platform. The difference that matters is not whether a tool can auto-reply — most can — but whether it will auto-reply to a one-star review. StarReply will not, in any mode, and that is a branch in the code rather than a default you can change.

Is StarReply a replacement for a whole reputation platform? No, and it is not trying to be. Birdeye also does messaging, surveys, listings management, payments and referrals. StarReply reads your reviews, drafts the reply, and hands you the queue. If you need the suite, buy the suite.

The fastest way to compare is to watch the agent work a real five-location book — including the four reviews it refuses to answer on its own. See the live demo →
